1. Where does Molly's Militia rescue its animals?
All of our dogs and cats are rescued from animal shelters ONLY. Because of the massive numbers of pets that are killed in animal shelters, our first obligation is to save as many of them as possible. In the CSRA area where we are located 3000 dogs and cats are euthanized every month in 3 local animal shelters. That is the reason we cannot accept surrendered or stray animals from the public. There are many other animal welfare groups in our area who take animals that owners no longer want or cannot keep. One of these organizations might be willing to take stray animals:

3. What do dogs and cats adopted from Molly's Militia receive?
Pets receive two free months of pet insurance, courtesy of Petfinder. You must activate the free insurance within 10 days of the adoption date. We also give a free professional grooming with each adoption (locally), courtesy of the Animal Boutique, Augusta, Georgia, phone 706-651-9044

4: Can you send my pet by plane?
Molly's Militia will be glad to accommodate out of state adoptions by taking your newly adopted pet to the airport, should you chose to fly your new pet home.
We highly recommend Delta's "Pet First" program, which you will find at this link:

We require that you make all travel arrangements with Delta. We charge 50.00 for taking your new pet to the airport, and for the time we spend buying the crate, bedding, food and water dish, and preparing your pet for travel. We also have to take your dog or cat to the veterinarian for an additional vet check, to get a health certificate, which is required by all airlines. If, for any reason, we have to make an extra trip to the airport, there will be another $50.00 charge, payable to Molly's Militia. Due to extremely hot weather conditions at this time of year, we must have your pet at the Delta Ticket Counter at 5:00 a.m. on the morning of the flight. Once we have the bill for the supplies needed and the vet visit, we will email that amount to you, which you can pay on PayPal by clicking
We label the outside of your pet's crate with the name of the person who is picking the animal up, the address phone number, and alternate phone number. We also securely tape a picture of your pet on top of the crate with information on who to contact in case of an emergency. Nothing is overlooked!
