Sugar

I thought I would up-date you on how Sugar is doing.........GREAT! So far, I could not have asked for a better dog for our family. She is soooo sweet and good with all 4 kids, good with Daphne (my other dog), intimidated by the 3 cats, and had 1 of the horses chase her out of the pasture (without anyone being hurt). She has met and played with my neighbors small dog and did great. The first time I went to put the leash on her to bring her to the neighbors house she didn't want to come-which made me feel good-because I think she likes it here and didn't want to go away. She is so well behaved. I don't know how she was at the pound, but Mellody must have really showed her a lot of love and also a some training. She is better behaved than my (almost) 4 yo golden/chow mix who went through obedience class! She is not a big dog food eater so far. I put a little bit of canned food with the dry and she seems to have liked that ok. Most of all, she likes the crumbs that the kids drop in the floor that she gets to vacuum up. She is not pushy about it though. As you can tell I'm VERY pleased at the choice we made.
I got tempted by the puppies but they are so much work! Thank you so much for all that you & your volunteers do for these animals that get tossed away by careless people.

Draper

Everything is going great here with Draper! He chewed up a shoe of mine, my fault for leaving them out!! LOL So we got him a nice sterile bone to chew, he loved it!! Draper rides with us in the car most of the time , the only time he gets into anything is when he's left alone. The first time he was alone in the house he got a few things out of the kitchen didn't chew anything up!! Draper and the bird are still getting use to each other.. so far so good!  I got a little worried because Draper didn't poop the first full day he was here, but he found a place outside and is doing fine now!! LOL!!  We have been keeping him on his leash most of the time when he's outside, but have let him run loose he comes right back.  We all love him very much!! and are so happy he found us!  Thank you again for letting us have Draper in our lives!

Ivy

"On February 15, 2002,  we adopted Ivy from Molly's Militia.  When we picked her up, we fell in love on the spot.  She was as sweet and as pretty a puppy as we had ever owned. ... she has been a pure joy to our family.  She goes camping with us, she goes fishing in the boat with us, she is absolutely a 100% member of our family.  She is one of the smartest and loving dogs we have ever had or have ever seen.  Thank you for saving her from the shelter and giving us the opportunity to make her ours. " -The Faulkners

Chelsea

Hi!

Chelsea says hello and wanted to tell you that she is the love of her parents' life...well, mostly of her mom's life.  She has the funniest personality and looks as beautiful as a full-blooded Bearded Collie. Her "sis" is a 6 year old Maine Coon Cat named Vernetta Jane (named by her previous owners when she was a show girl). The two love and cuddle one another. Chelsea also likes to crawl into bed with Mom after Dad has left for work. Her head rests on the pillow as she lays on her back with paws towards the ceiling. She does suffer from severe separation anxiety. She completely redecorated our new travel trailer, but, then, I never did care for those curtains, blinds, and screens anyway.  Plus she redecorated the blinds at a relative's home. But, these are part of her new training program and why she is now being crate trained. She feels much more secure in her new "bed". I recommend crates for all dog owners. I see a bright future for this sweet girl. She is a definite highlight of my life. I cherish her daily. Thank you for helping us become a family.

With sincere appreciation,

Maggie M. and Chelsea (Doodle all the Day)

Sully

I adopted a dog from MM last January and wanted to thank you for all you do.    Sully was very timid when I first got him but has since become very friendly and energetic.  He has never required any house training, learned to stay inside his underground fence in 1 day and has proven to be a great pet. In addition, his time in foster care must have made him very gentle with children and well behaved around other dogs.
Please thank everyone in your organization who helped rescue Sully.

Storm

Storm is doing fine.  She laid on my son's lap all the way home to Savannah and was very good.  She is getting accustomed to her new surroundings and loving it. She even laid herself on the carpet and  started rolling up and down on it. That was funny.  She is eating well and is getting vitamins.  We gave her a big bowl of food and she it all!  She is getting plenty of love and attention and she found herself a nice sleeping place in my son's room.  She goes for walks and loves her ice water. We are so happy that we have her.  As soon as we can, we will send pictures of her.  Thank you so very much.
