Darby
Elaine,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you and thank you so much for
returning my call about Darby. My vet did see her yesterday and
they actually removed that one stitch that was put in on Saturday.
She has a skin condition which they gave me medicine for, but
otherwise she is wonderful!!! Although I am a little sleep
deprived today, she is a sweetheart and has such a wonderful little
disposition! She has already let my five year old schnoodle know
that she is queen of the castle, and he seems to have no problem with
that! She is doing very well with letting me know when she needs
to go potty and even let us know in the van on the way home that we
needed to stop for a potty break!! I am feeding her Science Diet
puppy food, mixed with the puppy chow for now and she is eating well.
All of her teeth are coming in and she seems to think my nose is a
good teething toy! I hope you find a home for Bianca soon.
I admire what you do. Thanks for saving Darby so we could give
her a new home! Molly and your other cocker spaniel are
beautiful dogs.

 Zack
Hi Elaine and Molly,
I love my new puppy more than I could ever tell you. He's
perfect. I have named him Zachary "Zack" Thomas Williams.
He is doing great and everyone around is just crazy about him.
My friend, Ken, made the trip with me and played with him and held
him on the way home. I thought I was going to lose my baby.
Ken loves Zack as much as I do. Ken has a black Cocker Spaniel
named Taylor. I'm sure they will be great friends. I had
initially intended to get a puppy from our local shelter but most
were large breed dogs. I needed a smaller one. I began
looking at dogs in the local classifieds but had no luck. I
was so lucky to find your babies online. I feel great that by
adopting him I will be helping another dog or cat. I love cats
too. I
enjoyed meeting Fran and her husband and wished we could have stayed
longer. Ken kept pushing to leave. Later I found out
that it was because he was having such a difficult time leaving
without the other buff baby. He was worried that I would have
a problem choosing only one puppy, but it turned out to be him.
Thank you for all your help and the picture of Molly. She's
adorable.
Best wishes to you and all of your sweet babies!
Love,
|

This is Ruth
who adopted Mally (Mallory) from you a few months ago. I just
want to thank you so much for bringing her into my life. She
is such a joy to be around. My grandchildren and great
grandchildren all just love her too. If I am ever in the
market for a new pet, I will certainly come to you!

 Daisy
Hi Elaine,
I never got to meet you but I adopted Daisy the beagle in February
and just wanted to let you know how she is doing. Daisy, Mimi
(my other beagle) and I have since moved form Charleston to the
Myrtle Beach area and are all doing well. Mimi and Daisy are
the best of friends. Thanks again for you wonderful
organization and for bringing Daisy to us. I have made a
website for my two babies and would love for you to check it out.

Olivia
Last November I adopted
"Olivia" the rat terrier who came from the shelter in (I think it
was N. Augusta) and had pups when Molly's Militia took her in.
When I adopted her I had recently lost my beloved German Shepherd
Dog, who after 2 hip replacement had his spine blow out and had to
be euthanized at age 7 1/2. Needless to say I was heartbroken
and while we have other dogs we love dearly, I missed having my
one-and-only. But, as much as I loved GS's I couldn't bring
myself to have another right away, so I started looking for a dog
that would be very different from him, but would fit into our
menagerie of dogs, cat and two 3 year olds! When Olivia first
came home we weren't sure it was going to work out because she would
snap at us if we made eye contact with her. She never did it
with our kids but we were still concerned. We decided to try
it a bit longer and pretty soon knew that we would never give her
up! The events of her early life have made her timid at times,
and she is definitely at the bottom of the 'pack' of our dogs.
But they all get along, and she is a joy to us. She has a
sweet, funny personality - usually about midnight if anyone is still
awake she comes in and serenades them with a yodel. When she's
getting patted, her mouth hangs open in bliss. We love her big
"bat" ears. And every night she sleeps either on the couch in
my son's room or in his bed with him. We did change her name
to "Nina", the Spanish word for 'little girl'. My daughter
picked it and it just fit! We just wanted you to know how much
we appreciate all Molly's Militia did for her and how glad we are to
have her in the family. ~ Caroline T.

 Astro
Frank and I have adopted Astro, who we have now named Sundance.
He is a wonderful dog. He is so loving and kind natured. He is
playful and fun to have around. We lost our beautiful dog Bambi last
month from Cancer. We had her for 15 years and we missed her so
much. Sundance has been adopted in Bambi's name. Sundance has
brought joy back into our lives and that of our other dog Brownie who
is missing Bambi so much. Brownie was with Bambi all of life.
Sundance has helped Brownie come out of her depression. We are so
happy with him. He listens very well and is quite smart. So
Thank you Molly's Militia for this wonderful gift (SUNDANCE). He is
now part of our family and we love him.
Thanks,
Shirley and Frank |

Bianca
Bianca
is doing great. We have only had a few indoor accidents but we are
getting use to her being around so it should get easier. She
sleeps in her crate very well. The first day she was a little angel,
now, I think she is a tom boy. She is wild and crazy. Alvin, our cat
has let her know that he is boss. She accepted that pretty well. She
is spoiled rotten. A few of my friends even got her baby shower gifts.
Now she has every toy that they make for puppies, and then some
(shoes, towels, etc.) Thank you for helping me out with this. Now
there is never a dull moment at our house. We have chickens, about 18
now. Last night Bianca got close to one and then took off after it.
But then one crowed and I have never seen a puppy run so fast. She
headed for the door with that tail tucked. We finally got her and took
her to one. We have a chicken that will let you hold her so it was
easy to introduce them. My cat has never bothered them. As a matter of
fact, they chase him because they see the end of his tail moving and I
guess they think it is a worm. Never a dull moment at my house.
Something exciting everyday. Again, thank you for everything. We are
very pleased with our bundle of joy, I act like this is a human baby
or something. I guess I am the way that is crazy.
Again, thank you and I will keep you posted on her .

 Bella
Bella is the most spoiled, so-sweet, girl in the world! She
didn’t make a peep all the way back to Kentucky! Andrew
and I just love her and she’s been doing really well with her crate
training. I took her to the vet and had a general check-up
done and got her Heartguard and frontline for the year, and we got a
multivitamin for her – and because she’s from a puppy-mill we
thought that she probably didn’t get the best nutrition – the vet
thought the vitamins (including calcium and vitamin D) were a good
idea. Bella just loves to snuggle, and snuggle, and gets the
“runny-arounds” (racing around the house REALLY FAST)! We just
love her.

Seiko
Just wanted to send you an email and let you
know that your little white angel is home safely and has already
warmed my heart. You were exactly right when you said that I
would fall in love with him when I saw him. He is fitting in just fine
in his new home and loves everyone who stops to pet him. He has
a VERY calm personality, and has no problem sleeping EVERYWHERE, very
different from any puppy that I have ever had. He is wonderful!
He is a great car rider.... and had no problems with sleeping the
whole 2 hours home. he got in the passenger seat and plopped his head
down on my lap and was out. I would look down and check on him
and would find myself laughing out loud at how cute his little legs
are..... I am trying to figure out how they will hold up his growing
tummy. We pondered over names.... Stump was my first choice....
but I finally decided on "Hank". My friend said that he looked
like a little Tank.... so I kinda took that idea and decided Hank
would work.
I want to thank you for 'saving' him and doing the job that you
do so that he was available to me. For all the animals that do
not have a voice...... I will say thank you. I will keep you
posted and send you some pictures of him in his new FOREVER home.
Thanks again,
Amy |

 Patch
Patch is growing fast : ) He loves to play a lot!!!! At
the moment he is getting a couple of showers a week because he loves
to go out and roll and play with Nikki and the cats, and with all of
the neighborhood dogs : ) So in the process with all of this
rain we have had he finds every mud puddle that he can and rolls
around in it. Needless to say, then he has to get a shower so
that he can come back in. It is so funny, we will have to take a
picture of the darker side of Patch so that you can see him.
His Jack spots are becoming more pronounced on him as the days are
passing. It is hard to believe that he has only been here two
weeks.
We had a huge family picnic yesterday with friends and he had a
wonderful time. They all loved him as well.

just fine.
We will send pictures as soon as we can -
Thank you for trusting us with her - we are so thrilled to have her!

Nick
I
absolutely ADORE Nick !!! The poor baby must have been treated very
badly because he flinches if you even move. It makes me so sad to
think what he might have been treated like. But, that's all behind
him now !! Nothing but smooth sailing from now on for this little guy
!!He was so funny last night. He hadn't made a sound since I got him
and I took him out last night and a fire truck went down the other
street and I kept hearing this strange noise and I thought to myself,
that's a really
weird sounding siren. And then I looked down and It was little Nick
just howling up a storm. I cracked up laughing it was so cute !!
Anyway, I wanted to let you know we're heading for Indiana today. We
have a 10 hr drive ahead of us, but I'm sure Nick will do just fine !!
Thanks again, and I'll send you a picture once he gets all settled in
and feels more secure !!
Thanks again Elaine !! What you do is amazing !!

Shadow Shadow
is such a sweetheart. He is the most
loving, sweet tempered puppy I've
ever seen. He's lively, but he's
not wild and he doesn't try to nip
or bite like some puppies do. We are
so glad we got him. My other dog is
getting used to him. Last night it
was raining and I just knew that
Hannah (my other dog) wouldn't let
him in the dog house, but when I
went and checked, they were both in
the dog house snuggled up together.
I believe Shadow is the dog we were
meant to have. Belva B. |
Rudy/ "Doc"
I would like to update you on a dog
that I adopted from you in March,
2002. This story begins a year
earlier with the death of my St.
Bernard, Malachai. He was my dog of
dogs and I was destroyed when I had
to put him to sleep. I felt that God
would help me find my way to another
dog that would be the friend that
Malachai had been. I saw Dutch and
I knew he was the one. I quickly
found out that he had severe
separation anxiety. For the first
time in my life, there was no joy in
having a dog. I now know that God
led me to him because he knew that I
would never mistreat him and he
would never be without a home. I
tried everything in the books to
improve our situation. It did
improve but the bond that I desired
was not there. Then one night in
Feb. 2002, I was searching
Petfinder. I always look at the
Saints that need homes. I saw Doc
and felt a familiar feeling. I knew
that I had to have him. I left
Lexington, KY. after work and drove
to Aiken, S.C. to pick him up. On
the way home, I made the same
promises to him that I made to Dutch
and kept my fingers crossed that
everything would go well. And it
did. They became inseparable
immediately. I renamed him Rudy
after a character in one of my
favorite movies. He has made so
much progress in the eight months I
have had him. He has such an
adorable personality. You can't
look at him and not smile. He filled
a part of the whole in my heart.
The biggest gift he has given me is
the effect he has had on Dutch. He
is a different dog now. Rudy is
exactly what both of us needed.
Thank you .

Kylie
Couldn't find Fran's email address,
so I'm sending a note here. John
took me over to Fran's on Tuesday to
see "Kylie" and we adopted her right
away. Just wanted you to know, she
is a charm!! I can't imagine who
would have abandoned her. She's
perfectly housetrained and lap
trained and quiet, yet very playful
and affectionate. We are all
enjoying her and we've named her
Lucy. Thanks for all you do for the
animals and we're happy to be a
second time adoption family.
God's blessings,
Susan, Stewart, Adam, Doug, Julie,
Paul, Andrew and Anna Clare
