Minnie

Hi, I just wanted to say that I got a pet from you about 1 1/2 years ago. Her name was Minnie....I later changed it to Tipper.....and she is the most wonderful pet to have ever come into my life. Tipper had so many problems when I got her...and still has issues....but I was the right fit for her. We now live in Atlanta and I wanted to send you a picture of her....not sure if you remember her but I wanted to say how much I appreciate your giving her to me!

Sadie
Hello, just wanted to let you know how Sadie is doing. We have all truly fell in love with her. She stays in when we are home and awake. At night we let her have the run of the carport right now. She is just a great puppy. Thank you so much for her. I want to see if you could email me the picture of her that was on Petfinders and the one you took of all of
us when we got her Saturday. When you get the chance. I wanted to make a book for the kids.
Thanks again,
Lore Hatley

Kizzy
Kizzy (now known as “Snickers” – short for Snickerdoodle!!! J ) is doing just fine…

Full of puppy brains and spunk… The oldest (Sasha) is tolerating her well – she just doesn’t care for her puppy nipping!!! But it is the funniest thing in the world to watch – Sasha has a big long furry tail… And if she’s watching out the patio door and her tail is wagging, it’s fair game as far as Snickers is concerned!!! She’ll go over and pounce on it and start chomping on it… Poor Sophie is jealous, but she has come a long way in just a day… She’ll be OK when everything settles down and she gets used to her… Right now it is the usual stuff for a new addition – Sophie’s trying to avoid Snickers as best she can – and Sophie will try to steal the chewy we give to Snickers… (Boy, does she know what to do with a chewy!!!) They all get along much better outside than inside – Sophie will ease up and let Snickers get close enough to sniff her… So it’s just a matter of time and extra loving for Sophie… She’ll be OK…

But all in all, Snickers is a very determined and fearless puppy… It took her all of 2 hours to figure out she could jump down from the footstool… And just a day to figure out she could jump down from the bed!!! She can’t get UP on either of them, but she can get down!!! I am taking off this week when my husband is scheduled to go into the office so I can take care of her, and hopefully get her on some sort of regular schedule as far as housebreaking with the others… I figure the best thing is to let them all out at the same time everytime, instead of just Snickers a lot of times and the others at their regular schedules… I figure the other girls are used to our schedule – and we can get Snickers used to it gradually, but the other dogs will give her the best hint that she should go if they are out there too and she sees them getting their business done and over with and not in the house… And Snickers actually slept from 11:30 last night to almost 4:00 this morning!!! So I don’t think it’s going to be hard to housebreak her – she just has to get used to it!!!

Ask anytime you feel like how she’s doing – I feel just like a new mommy all over again!!! And since I’m not having any more human children, critters are it for me!!! I think this will be all we’ll have… But you never know!!!

Thanks again for all your efforts… She’s a very special little girl… J I just love her to pieces!!!

Nova
We found little “Story” at Petfinder.com on the internet, and when we saw his sweet little face, we absolutely fell in love with him! Even though we live in Pennsylvania, and he was all the way down in Georgia, we had to make the drive to come get him. Cynthia had lovingly nursed him back to health from suffering Parvo, from which his mother and sister did not recover, unfortunately. When we met him he was flourishing under her care.

He has fit in perfectly with our other dogs, and he is still puzzled by the kitties, who love to play with him! As we write this letter, he is bounding up and down the hall, playing with his squeaky toy. He cuddles like no other dog we’ve ever had, sleeps the entire night under the covers, and travels everywhere with us in our RV like a dream.

He is now almost 5 months old, and is already performing “stay”, “down”, and “come” like a pro! We are so thrilled to have him! And we are now going to be faithful supporters of the wonderful work Molly’s Militia is doing. Thank you so much!

Sincerely,

The Darlington Family

Elisabeth
Wanted to update you on Elisabeth. My daughter named her Lil' Chloe. She has done really well. She goes to the bathroom outside, and sleeps all night in her crate. She is a bundle of energy. Definitely has to have some jack russell in her. She began having kennel cough the day after we got her home but the vet gave us some tabs to give to her so it would help her sleep at night and not be constantly coughing. Seemed night time was when it activated. She weighed 5 lbs then. We had to put her in the vets for boarding while we were at the beach last wk and they put her in a little crate in the kitchen. She had tons of attention from the caretakers and doctors there. She will probably be totaly rotten when we get her tomorrow afternoon. She will get the other shot and 1st rabies tomorrow before we pick her up. She was up to 5 lbs 7oz in a week. She did have a slight bout of diarrhea for about 3 days, but that was due to my daughter overfeeding her. She had misunderstood what I had said to feed her. She was over that in after we put her on a little rice. My 9 yo schnauzer has mostly ignored her so far and she runs from her when Chloe chases her. I think it will take a little longer for her to accept Chloe but I think with time, she will. The vet said let her take her time and do not force their coexistance. The older dog has to let Chloe know what her place is in the "pecking order". I have taken some pictures and will send you a couple of them. She is learning the word "no". Loves to bite and we are training her on that.

So far Chloe is a bundle of joy and has bonded to my daughter 100%. She knows that is her new mom.

Santana
I adopted Santanna from the Molly's Militia at the pet store in aiken in June of '02. He has been a wonderful addition to our family. He's becoming very spoiled and a little fat. He comes with us when we go to Kentucky to have Thanksgiving or Christmas with our family every year. He loves the rode trips and everyone in Kentucky adores him. Santanna is an inside dog and usually sleeps in the bed with me or on the couch. At his last check up with the vet he was given a clean bill of health. His heartworms are gone now and he weighs about 47lbs.

Thanks,
Tanna's Mom(Tiffany Mayse)

Bouncer
Thank you for the lovely postcard with Dasher's picture on it! :-) That was sweet of you. Dasher (formerly Bouncer) is doing great. He and my Golden Retriever were playing so hard this morning! They are starting to get along really well. Thank the Lord! I am glad that I gave him another chance. He gets along with the dogs really well now, and I think he considers them his family. As for the cats, yes, he still chases them, but only if they run. If they are sitting on the porch, he'll ignore them. I am sending you a picture of Dasher sitting on the porch and you can see my cat in the background on the porch railing! Thanks again.
